2026

Conferences

  • Prof. Gregor participated in GRC Marine Microbes 2026 in Barcelona, and SynBio 8.0 in Waterloo, ON.
  • x2026: The MicroChemEco Lab participated in the Canadian Societies for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering 2026 Conferences and Exhibition (Toronto). Prof. Gregor was one of the organizers of the symposium "Natural Products, Enzymes and Engineering: A Unified Approach (BM)" and an invited speaker for the symposium "Biocatalysis Meets Industry for a Circular Economy  (GR)."
  • CanMetCon 2026: The MicroChemEco Lab participated in the Canadian Metabolomics Conference 2026 in Toronto presenting our research. Prof. Gregor presented our work on analyzing metabolites as an invited speaker. Juan Daniel gave a flash-talk and presented a poster on his work.

Awards and scholarships

  • Data Sciences Institute Summer Undergraduate Data Science (SUDS) scholarship awarded to Jessica Anirisaihan- congratulations Jessica! Jessica will be joining the lab for a summer research project on genome annotation co-supervised by Prof. Benjamin Sanchez-Lengeling.
  • NSERC Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Doctoral Program awarded to Juan Daniel Castanier Rivas- congratulations Juan Daniel!
  • The Ontario Graduate Scholarship and CAN-AMR-Net scholarship awarded to Rosalie Wang- congratulations Rosalie!

  • Rosalie Wang presented a poster at the AMR Symposium in Toronto!
  • Prof. Gregor is in Italy, presenting our research at the “Cell-cell communication in bacteria: new insights and future trends” conference. Fantastic science, beautiful views, and catching up with colleagues in the quorum sensing field!
